Sunday, July 6: POOL PARTY!

Have you been on a waiting list for a membership at the PG Pool for approximately 87 years? Are you tired of sending your kids out into the yard with a hose to get their fill of water sports? If so, then rejoice, for Kidical Mass DC has the perfect bike ride for you!

All-around awesome mom Elizabeth has scored us a coveted pool party spot at the PG Pool (just over the line in Prince George’s County) for Sunday, July 6. Though there is normally a fee for non-members to attend parties at PG Pool, thanks to the generosity of BicycleSPACE’s yoga program, we are able to offer this party FREE to all Kidical Mass riders.

The details:

We’ll meet at Turkey Thicket Rec Center (the parking lot, Michigan Avenue side) at 10:00am on Sunday, July 6. From there we’ll ride to the PG Pool in Mt. Rainier -- about 3 miles. Space is limited -- we’re allowed a maximum of 35 people at the party -- so please sign up on this form to let us know you’re coming.

What you need to know about the pool:
  • Glass containers are strictly forbidden on the grounds of the PG Pool.
  • Swim diapers are required for children who aren’t potty trained yet.
  • You should bring your own lunch to the Pool. UPDATE: We had originally indicated that PG Pool had a snack bar and offered grilled foods for sale. That is not the case, so PLEASE be sure to bring lunch for your family!

Date: Sunday, July 6, 2014.
Time: 10:00am
Location: Meetup at Turkey Thicket Recreation Center parking lot (limited car parking is available), 1100 Michigan Avenue, NE. Click here for the route.
Distance: 3 miles.
Difficulty level: Intermediate.

  1. This is a lovely post on pool party. You reminded me of my birthday pool party. Hey, I have hosted casual parties a lot but don’t have experience in arranging corporate events. Actually I need to organize an event quite soon at the domestic corporate events Chicago venue. Can you share any tips for corporate party planning?
